Daily Fatigue

Fatigue in healthy people is an important biological alarm system that acts as a cue to rest. Severe fatigue can negatively affect quality of life, and oxidative stress may play a role in its mechanism. The attached study was published in Nutrient magazine in 2018.

Symptoms of Fatigue
  • More than tired. Lethargic, Exhausted, Listless.
  • Lack of motivation to begin an activity
  • Tires easily once the activity has begun
  • Mental fatique or difficulty with concentration and memory.
The aim of this investigation was to study strong food-derived antioxidants, such as astaxanthin, on fatigue.

As a result of this four-week randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study, astaxanthin supplementation promoted recovery from induced mental fatigue as well as physical fatigue. These results suggest the novel possibility that supplementation with astaxanthin may reduce subjective fatigue in healthy subjects of both mental and physical stress.
