Kidney Cancer

Kidney Cancer
Kidney cancer is cancer that begins in the kidneys. Your kidneys are two bean-shaped organs, each about the size of your fist.  They are located behind your abdominal organs, with one kidney on each side of your spine.

In adults, renal cell carcinoma is the most common type of kidney cancer. A growing number of studies show that astaxanthin is emerging as a key player in cancer therapy. In this research article, scientists described the effects of astaxanthin on cancer as well as inflammation. These observations make astaxanthin an attractive therapeutic agent for developing new treatment protocols, and possibly for combining with other chemotherapeutics to overcome drug resistance and achieve better outcomes in cancer treatment.
