Research has shown that ValAsta / astaxanthin can be used to fight the gemcitabine-resistant pancreatic tumors.
Pancreatic cancer is a lethal malignancy, with a mortality rate of >90%; it is ranked fourth in terms of cancer-related deaths. Treatment of pancreatic cancer involves chemotherapy. The tumor rapidly becomes resistance to this treatment resulting in the cancer being difficult to treat and with a poor outcome. The attached study shows how astaxanthin can prevent the tumor from becoming resistant to the chemotherapy and allowing for a better outcome.
Signs and symptoms of pancreatic cancer often don't occur until the disease is advanced.
Symptoms may include:
- Pain in the upper abdomen that radiates to your back
- Loss of appetite or unintended weight loss
- Depression
- New-onset diabetes
- Blood clots
- Fatigue
- Yellowing of your skin and the whites of your eyes (jaundice)
