“Intense physical exercise determines increased oxidative stress and a tendency toward inflammation, because of a greater respiratory activation chain and the insufficient disposal of excess oxygen. Consequently, increasing antioxidant intake would reduce oxidative stress, with a subsequent benefit to athletes.”

In this Pub Med article (link below) the results revealed that daily consumption of Astaxanthin is a beneficial strategy in human health management and could result in being successful in fighting oxidative stress in athletes whose free radical production is heightened because of physical exercise. In addition it has been valued as a potential add on therapy in the conservative management of many sports injuries.
