In studies and trials, astaxanthin lowered oxidative stress in overweight and obese subjects and in smokers. It blocked oxidative DNA damage, lowered C-reactive protein (CRP) and other inflammation biomarkers and boosted immunity in the tuberculin skin test. Astaxanthin lowered triglycerides and raised HDL-cholesterol in another trial and improved blood flow in an experimental microcirculation model. It improved cognition in a small clinical trial and boosted proliferation and differentiation of cultured nerve stem cells. In several Japanese RCTs, astaxanthin improved visual acuity and eye accommodation. It improved reproduction performance in men and reflux systems in H. pylori patients. In preliminary trials it showed promise for sports performances (soccer). In cultured cells, astaxanthin protected the mitochondria against endogenous oxygen radicals, conserved their redox (antioxidant) capacity, and enhanced their energy production efficiency. Astaxanthin's clinical success extends beyond protection against oxidative stress and inflammation, to demonstrable promise for slowing age-related functional decline.
I have been taking Valasta for about 3 years. Started prophylactically over concern due to genetic heart disease is rampant in my family.
I have experienced a decrease in my cholesterol, blood pressure and over all well being. After being on It for a year, my diagnosis of osteoporosis, was down graded to osteopenia. Hoping this coming January, after my next DEXA scan, I will no longer have this diagnosis. I had been taking too much vitamin D3 for my osteopenia, I started experiencing joint pain. I was told to discontinue the extra D3 and increase Valasta. Within 2 weeks, the osteoarthritis was gone. I have an added benefit… I feel like I did in my 20’s and 30’s. I walk faster, exercise longer and lifting more weights. Basically my overall well being is fantastic! Just because I take Valasta everyday. I almost forgot, I have fair skin and had to visit the dermatologist often to have precancerous spots removed. I have not needed to this in over a year! Yeah. Take it-as you should and change your life for the better.
Capsules are good. Just feel for the price it should be about 20-30 more per bottle.

So glad I can order my valasta already in the capsules. They are a little large but I am not getting orange every where anymore. Great idea to offer this.
